The Madison County Recreation Department (MCRD) offers a Basketball 101 class for boys and girls ages 5 and 6 in January and/or February for 4 weeks. The class is held on Saturday mornings at an elementary school gym here in Madison County.
The cost for Basketball 101 is $40 per child.
*A birth certificate is required upon registration if the MCRD does not already have one on file for your child.
All participants are provided a basketball or t-shirt by the MCRD. All participants should wear athletic shoes.
Class participants will learn the fundamentals of basketball including dribbling, passing and shooting. This class is a great step in preparing first time players for team play. During each session, participants will work on drills designed to improve their ball handling and teach them different types of passes and the correct shooting form.
