Summer Day Camp Campers (and parents),
Hello! This is your Camp Director, Justin. I wanted to let you know that I have been thinking of you all and planning lots of fun activities for you. Sometimes things are out of our control and plans change, like our time together at day camp. Often times when we’re really looking forward to doing something and we can’t anymore, we feel sad about it. Know that it is okay to be sad! I am sad too and I’m going to miss meeting each and every one of you this summer at day camp. Even though we can’t spend time together, I hope you can find happiness through the 2020 Summer-Camp-In-A-Box. The Summer-Camp-In-A-Box is our way to spread a little camp spirit to those who wish to still feel that camp magic during our time away from each other—think of it as Christmas in June where you get to open a really big present filled with fun and adventure! Take a look at the contents below and have your parents let me know if you would like one. Have a great summer and I hope to see you all soon!
MCRD Summer-Camp-In-A-Box Contents
Each of the boxes includes EVERYTHING listed above. We are offering this opportunity at our cost, for the price of $80.00. That’s right, we’re offering these at the price at which it costs us to assemble them. When purchased individually, the contents are valued at $150…and some of these activities aren’t available to individuals, rather requiring an organized group to participate.
To reserve your Summer-Camp-In-A-Box (or boxes), please complete the following information and email it to firstname.lastname@example.org. Do not hesitate to place your order due to the very limited number of boxes being offered. Orders will be processed in the order in which they are received. Orders must be submitted no later than May 25th to guarantee you receive a t-shirt. Orders placed after May 25th will only receive a shirt if we are able to reach the minimum order quantity needed for our t-shirt supplier.
For those who want to take advantage of our Summer-Camp-In-A-Box and have money paid towards day camp already, refunds will be issued for the difference between what you have paid already and the price of the box. If you have already paid less than your total for your box, the difference will be due before or at the time of receiving your box by cash or check.
Boxes will be available starting Monday June 8th for pick up from Madison County Recreation Department’s office (1345 Hwy 98 W, Danielsville, GA 30633).
Individuals are able to purchase additional t-shirts for $10, either as an addition to their box or without the purchase of a box. If purchasing an additional t-shirt with a box, please include this with your order information (see below). If purchasing a t-shirt without ordering a box, please email email@example.com with quantities and sizes, specifying youth or adult size. Money for t-shirts not associated with a box are due at the time of shirt pick up. Cash or check only please. Email shirt orders by May 25th to guarantee them. Orders placed after May 25th will only receive a shirt if we are able to reach the minimum order quantity for our t-shirt supplier.

Summer Camp In A Box is now available! Please see the information below for details and ordering information! There are a limited number of boxes available to purchase. On May 14th, information was released via email to parents of campers with registration fees already paid and those who were on the wait list AND of those who had not requested a refund yet. As of today May 18th, purchase of a camp in a box is available to anyone who wishes to.

Emails have been sent to parents of campers who were either fully registered or placed on the wait list. Please check your spam folders. Those of you who have already requested a refund, your refunds have been initiated. If you paid for registration with a credit card, those funds should be showing up on that credit card within the next few days. If you paid for registration with cash or a check, refund checks are being processed. Please allow some extra time for checks to arrive via mail.
We are working towards offering take-home boxes for campers to make their time at home feel somewhat like camp. Details including contents and price will be released by May 15th. Money paid for registration can be applied towards the price of boxes, with any difference being refunded. Email email@example.com if you are interested in a take-home box or if you would like a refund, but don't hesitate!

After much deliberation, we have made to the tough decision to cancel our summer day camp program. This decision was in no way easy to make, but the safety of our campers is of the utmost importance. The nature of being in close community with one another while at day camp does not allow for safe social distancing. Additionally, the uncertainty of when things can resume as normal is greatly affecting planning integral aspects of camp.
While we understand this announcement is less than ideal, we still hope to bring a part of camp to your home by offering a take-home box of activities to make your time at home feel a little like camp. The limited number of take-home boxes will include hands-on projects, art crafts, activity and game guides, a virtual access pass, and a camp t-shirt. We are working quickly to finalize details of the take-home boxes, including the price. We will send emails, by May 15, to parents of those who are already registered for camp to take advantage of this option. Registration fees already paid will apply towards the cost of the take-home box, with refunds being issued for any differences. If there are remaining take-home boxes after hearing from those who are already registered, we will send emails to those on the waitlist. If any remain after that, we will open it up to everyone else. For those who already know they would prefer a refund without taking advantage of the take-home box, please email Program Coordinator, Justin Van Wicklen at firstname.lastname@example.org and a full refund will be issued. Refunds of any remaining registration fees will be automatically issued on June 1st. Any questions or concerns can also be sent to the listed email.
