Meet Your Instructor

Lisa has worked in higher education, health, fitness, and well-being for over 15 years and currently serves as the Associate Director for Fitness, Well-being & Student Engagement for the University of Georgia Department of Recreational Sports. She is an NBC-HWC (National Board-Certified Health & Wellness Coach), NASM Certified Personal Trainer, AFAA Certified Group Fitness Instructor, CES (Cancer Exercise Specialist), USATF Level 1 Coach, and Red Cross Instructor. Lisa is trained in and has taught various fitness class formats including Pilates, yoga, cycling, barre, step aerobics, HIIT, and strength. She holds a MEd in Sport Management, a BS in Exercise Science, and a minor in Coaching. She has worked with a wide range of populations from youth to seniors. Lisa loves being able to make a difference in the quality of life of her students and celebrate the small wins! Her yoga students have been able to improve their mobility and stability and have seen specific improvements such as: 

 

"I am an equestrian who had both hip and knee pain while riding. After doing yoga with Lisa, I am now pain-free!" 

 

Lisa hopes to help you move well, improve sleep, increase balance, build strength, and reduce stress through regular yoga practice.

What to Expect

Yoga is a beginner to intermediate level class that focuses on stability and mobility for functional movement. Experience a positive and supportive community that is here to help uplift and encourage you! We will flow through a variety of asanas including sun salutations, warrior series, hip openers, and finish with relaxation (Savasana). Enjoy total body relaxation, a calmer mind, and reduced stress levels. From athletes to active agers, yoga is for every body! Classes are 60 minutes in length.
