The mission of the Madison County Recreation Department is to provide fun, safe and affordable recreational opportunities at various recreational facilities to enhance the quality of life and promote healthy lifestyles for all participants and citizens of Madison County.

Shelley, a native of Danielsville and graduate of Madison County High School in 2007 earned her B.S. in Education from the University of Georgia in 2012, majoring in Recreation and Leisure Studies. Her love of volleyball and many years of coaching led her to choose a career in recreation. She has been involved with many aspects of the recreation field including athletics, programming, special events, and administration. Shelley is an active member in both GRPA (Georgia Recreation and Parks Association) and NRPA (National Recreation and Parks Association), and holds the professional certifications of: CPRP (Certified Park and Recreation Professional) and CYSA (Certified Youth Sports Administrator). Her vision for MCRD is to ensure all citizens have the opportunity to enjoy leisure activities, whether as a participant, spectator, or occasional visitor. Outside of the office Shelley enjoys spending time with her husband and their cats, Azul and Maggie.

Non-Traditional/Instructional Programs, Summer Day Camp, Special Events, Sport Scholarship Program
Holley, a native and resident of Madison County, graduated from MCHS in 2018 and has been a part of the MCRD team since 2016 when she started working part time. Her love of children and sports led her to become a Summer Day Camp Counselor. When the opportunity arose Holley was the perfect candidate to lead the program activities which include overseeing our Summer Camp program. She is an active member in GRPA. Holley has many ideas for increasing program opportunities and welcomes suggestions from potential and current participants. In her spare time, you can find Holley traveling, spending time with friends and family, playing/coaching soccer, and hanging out with her dogs, Ella and Lucy.

Andrew has been a member of GRPA since 2021 and employed with MCRD for 20 years. He has been involved with the development of many of our projects over the years (Brewer Phillips Sports Complex construction, The Sammy Disc Golf Course, Wall ball Court, design of the park’s nature trails and Splash Island Pad design).
